China in World War II is a collaborative research initiative led by Prof. Selda Altan at Randolph College, with student researchers Jack Bare and Westley Mendoza. This digital platform explores China’s experience in the Second World War from both social and global perspectives.

Our research centers on the unrecognized role of women in China’s resistance against Japanese occupation, particularly through organizations such as United China Relief and the Chinese Industrial Cooperatives. By examining archival materials, financial records, and personal narratives, we aim to illuminate how women’s labor and leadership contributed to wartime resilience and postwar reconstruction within a framework of feminist geopolitics.
